StandardDeviation(String,Series,ElementValue) Method
Calculates the sample standard variance of the series's elements values.
Syntax
Parameters
- elementName
- The name of the element which will be displayed on the chart, i.e. its label.
- s
- A financial series.
- elementValue
- Specifies the particular element value (for example High, Low, Close or Open of the financial time series) which will be considered within this indicator evaluation. In particular, if you wish to use the element value high then you should pass the parameter High. In a similarly fashion if you wish to use the low, close or open, then you should pass the parameter Low, Close, Open, respectively.
Remarks
Remark: The units of the Sample Standard Deviation will correspond to the units used by the observations (i.e. the units of the members of the data set). In many instances it is convenient that the units used for the observations corresponds to the units used for a measure of the sets deviations. This differs from the Variance(String,Series,ElementValue) in which the deviation is measured in units which are the squares of the units of the observations.
